Paste the link.
Read the conversation.
Turn any YouTube video into a transcript you can actually read: who said what, clickable timestamps, real paragraphs instead of a wall of text, plus a summary and chapters.
How to transcribe a YouTube video
Copy the link
On YouTube tap Share → Copy link, or copy the address bar.
Paste and go
Paste it above and press Transcribe. Text appears in seconds; speakers and a summary follow.
Read, search, take it
Tap any timestamp to jump the video there. Copy it, or download .txt, .md or .srt.
Who said what
Each speaker gets a name and a colour, and every change of speaker starts a new block.
Clickable timestamps
Like YouTube's own transcript: tap a time and the video jumps there. It follows along as it plays.
Summary & chapters
A short summary, the key points, and chapters you can jump to, for when you don't have two hours.
Take it anywhere
Copy it, or download text, Markdown for your notes or AI, or .srt subtitles.

YouScribe's Markdown download drops straight into the same notes as MarkSave (PDFs to Markdown) and ArticleSave (X articles to PDF). Videos, documents and articles, all as clean text.
Questions
How do I get the transcript of a YouTube video?
Copy the video's link (on the YouTube app: Share → Copy link), paste it above and press Transcribe. The text appears in a few seconds. Shortcut: in any YouTube link, swap youtube.com for youscribe.pages.dev and it opens here, already transcribing.
How does it know who is speaking?
YouTube's captions mark where the speaker changes, but not who it is. YouScribe's AI reads the conversation and works out who says each part, using names when they're mentioned. It's usually right for interviews and podcasts, but it can slip, especially on short replies like "Yeah". Tap a speaker's name to move that part to someone else or rename them; your changes go into your copy and downloads.
Does it work on every video?
It works on public videos that have captions or YouTube's automatic captions, which is most videos with speech, in most languages. Private videos, live streams in progress and some very new uploads have no transcript yet. The words are YouTube's captions, so names and jargon can be misheard just like on YouTube.
What's the summary based on?
The transcript only. AI writes a short summary, key points and chapters from what was said. It's a quick guide, not a replacement for watching; check anything important against the video. You can turn the AI part off with the switch and still get the full transcript.
Do you store my videos or transcripts?
No account and nothing saved to your name. To fetch a transcript, the video's link goes to our server and our transcript provider, and for speakers and the summary the text goes to Cloudflare's AI. Transcripts may be cached for a day to make repeat requests faster. We keep anonymous counts, like how many transcripts are made, but never which videos, and no cookies.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Copy the link from the YouTube app, open YouScribe and tap Paste. To open it like an app, tap Share → Add to Home Screen.
Is it free?
Yes. Free, with no sign-up.
